Empaths! A lot of people are relating to that term these days. Did you know there are three specific kinds of empaths according to your Energy Signature? The Priest, Lover and Gardener are all different energy types that have empathic qualities. Empaths sense other people’s “stuff”. The specific ways that you sense other people’s “stuff” depends on these types within your Energy Signature. Do you energetically take on, tune in, or flow with others?  The way in which you engage is ultimately a particular boundary issue for the three kinds of empaths. 

Gardeners are probably what people think of as the classic empath. They feel others' pain, both emotionally and physically. They can literally take on the bodily pain of another! People will sense this unconsciously, and make a beeline to the Gardener in the room, then proceed to dump all their troubles and burdens on them.

Gardeners have accommodating boundaries, putting other people’s needs first. They will actually anticipate and then do – even volunteer without being asked! – what they believe is needed. Releasing that extra baggage, and eventually learning how NOT to take on energy that isn't theirs, is the challenge. Helping others at the expense of their own self-care can lead to burn-out. Once they bring their boundary into balance and start taking care of themselves first, their truly generous, big heart can fully manifest. 

Lovers are very attuned to the feelings and sensations of others. Extremely sensitive to the emotional temperature of an individual or group, they respond with consideration and sympathy. They can identify and resonate with whatever is happening, and are attentive in a very personal way. In a group, they are the one you ask to find out how everyone else is feeling!

Lovers have enmeshed boundaries; they can mirror and fully be in an experience with another. Not knowing where they end and the other begins, they can lose their own sense of self in the process. Often when they hear about an illness, they will immediately check themselves to see if they have it. When their boundary is more defined, they engage in a mutual exchange of support; their nurturing nature can be fully expressed and reciprocated.

Priests are highly intuitive and can access a lot of “psychic” information; they seem to know others easily. They can tune in immediately, and are always ready to give someone their full attention when asked. They will inspire creative thinking around what’s up, and assure you that you are not alone in a particular issue or situation.

Priests have permeable boundaries. They are at home in the energetic and spiritual realms, and are frequently traveling between worlds. They recognize and understand where someone is coming from, but have a more muted emotional response than other empaths. Not as attached to material and physical form, they can be ungrounded. Time is experienced in a less linear way, which often results in being late, which may irritate others. Manifesting their wonderful intentions and wisdom can be challenging until firmer boundary distinctions and intentionality are in play.    

Remember, there are two major energy types in your Energy Signature, and you have other patterns in the mix. You may even have two types of empaths! The energy types affect not only boundaries, but many other aspects of your life. Physical health, developmental beliefs, energetic patterns around conflict, communication styles, and the chakra system baseline are all part of what your Energy Signature outlines.
