Ah, the future. Can we get a hint at what’s in store for us? It’s a perennial question that we all seem to want answered. Divination has taken endless forms throughout the ages. Celtic runes, tea leaves, tarot cards and palms can be read. Today there is a proliferation of “cards” to guide us that can be as simple as a meditation for the day, or as complex as the Chinese IChing and astrology. The human search for certainty (and security in the known) is unending.
The source of this wisdom is divine and mysterious, but often there is an intermediary involved. It can be a person interpreting the chart, cards, palms or dreams. It requires a certain level of knowledge - some people take the time to do that for themselves, but more often we consult with others. It also calls for some level of intuitive access. We can ask a question, and usually get specific information or a forecast.
Historically there have been special places to go, such as the Delphi temple in Greece, to receive revelations about the future and put the past in context. Often associated with a particular religion or belief system, these oracles communicated prophecies both arcane and earthly. My go to for guidance is The I-Ching, or “Book of Changes” - and change is constant! It contains a wealth of wisdom, and is a divination invitation, a philosophical perspective, and intuitive guidance all in one. It’s been next to my bedside for many years.
Some systems describe your essential personal characteristics, both pro and con, as well as the current dynamics in play. Many have their basis in reading something physical - astrology is based on astronomy - and it's physical and energetic. Complementary health professionals might read your tongue, the iris of the eye, the pulse or use kinesiology (essentially biofeedback - testing muscle energy for insight). These are disciplines related to health, but several can also be used for questions not related to the body.
These are all wonderful tools! Yet I believe in these times we are being called to develop our own intuitive powers - without relying on a physical or written reference. Today we aren’t looking so much for definitive answers, but for what is supported - or not - by energetic influences and timing.
Developing our sixth sense is the next natural evolution for humanity. It’s much needed to balance the preponderance of the rational, scientific-based perspective. It’s all good; the more information, the better! There is so much interest now in spirituality, healing, and intuition. It’s heartening to see that many are answering the call to integrate all the gifts available in to us in this life .
My mission is to train others in the skills to gain easy access to intuitive guidance - for use in practical, esoteric and personal matters. Sensing energy in the body, what I call “Soul Dialog” (communicating with other forms of life, including spirits), and learning how to open and be available for energetic information can all be learned.
It’s a rare day - what will you leap into? What can you master in the next four years?
Peace, love and healing -
